Planning meeting for Book Cultures, Book Events conference went well with discussion of first abstracts, preliminary schedule for the conference drawn up, and inspection of a very comfortable venue with stunning views around the Stirling campus. After a discussion of the practicalities of travel we decided it was best to provide information on possible local accommodation for those delegates who might want to stay near the campus for the duration. Inquiries have already been received from Australia and Kenya! Other subjects for discussion included tweaks to this very website, the very important subject of the conference lunch, and the possibility of holding a panel debate on literary events at an actual literary event, allowing a true interaction between research and practice.
